AMEVA ORDERING GUIDE

Choosing Embroidery Size and Placement

A name on a napkin corner and a logo on a shirt need different amounts of space. Start with the item you will supply, the position you have in mind and the finished size you want. We confirm suitability before stitching.

Discuss your order

Measure the design, not the whole item

Give the intended embroidery width and height in millimetres. For example, a design 8 cm wide is 80 mm wide. These measurements describe the finished design, not the towel, garment or image file. If only one dimension matters to you, tell us which one and ask us to keep the design proportions.

Try a paper outline at the intended size

Cut a piece of paper to the width and height you are considering and hold it against the item. Check whether it looks right at the distance it will normally be seen. This is a planning aid, not a promise that the item can be hooped or stitched in that area. Send a photo of the paper position with your enquiry.

Describe the placement precisely

Say which side of the item should face out and where the design should sit. For garments, describe left or right from the wearer’s perspective. For napkins, show the corner and how you intend to fold them. For towels, show the end and the surrounding border. Include a clear photo if words could be interpreted in more than one way.

Let us check seams, layers and access

Send a photo or product link before buying blank items. Show the front and back of the intended area where possible, and tell us about pockets, linings, seams or existing decoration. Caps and bags need their own suitability check. The machine’s maximum working area does not mean every item can accept a design of that size.

Agree wording and detail at the chosen size

Send exact spelling, punctuation and capitalisation with the design. If a logo or motif contains detail that needs to change for your intended size, we will discuss the revised design in the proof. Do not assume shrinking an image leaves every feature equally clear in thread. Approve the final wording, proportions and placement before stitching.

Keep each version attached to the correct item

If pieces have different names, sizes or placements, list them separately. For example: two towels with the same name and position, plus one towel with a different name. Identify which artwork and thread codes belong to each version. A clear list helps the team prepare an accurate quote and proof.

Send one complete brief

Include the item or product link, quantity, exact wording or artwork, intended width and height, placement photo, thread codes, required date and delivery town. You supply the suitable blank items separately, through Takealot or by sending items you already own. One initial design and two revision rounds are included; confirm your design before the items arrive.
