Mail-in Embroidery in South Africa
Your own towel, polo, napkin or gift can become something personal without visiting a shop. Ameva is a mail-in embroidery business in Hluhluwe, serving customers in South Africa. Start with a WhatsApp enquiry before buying or posting your items.
Discuss your order1. Check the item before you buy
Send a clear photo of the item or its Takealot product link. Include the fabric information, the area you want embroidered and an approximate design size. Seams, linings and access to the embroidery area affect whether an item is suitable. A product being made of fabric does not automatically mean every part can be embroidered.
2. Send one complete quote request
Include the item, quantity, exact wording or artwork, preferred thread colours, placement, required date and delivery town. For names and dates, type the final spelling as well as sending any reference image. If you need different names on individual items, identify each one so the team can confirm the correct quote.
3. Confirm the quote and mailing arrangements
Ameva's prices cover embroidery; you supply the suitable blank items. One item is R125, four are R460, six are R660, and orders of 30 or more are R95 per item. Discounted quantities use identical wording, design and colours. Delivery is separate. For quantities between these examples or mixed designs, request an official quote. There is no minimum order.
4. Send only after the team confirms
For Takealot orders, use Armand Strauss, Ameva Thread Co., 42 Impala Street, Hluhluwe, 3960, with delivery contact 082 856 6616. Buy the item separately and include your Ameva order reference. For items you already own, contact us for the exact Hluhluwe PUDO receiving locker before booking. Staff collect from lockers. There are no customer visits or collections at the office. Keep your tracking reference so we can match the parcel to your order.
5. Allow for production and transport
Full payment is required before work starts. Production is typically 3–4 days from receipt of your items, including weekends; transport to Ameva and onward delivery are separate from that production period. Tell the team your actual event date and ask them to confirm the schedule. Sending an enquiry is available 24/7, but a message alone does not reserve production time.
Artwork and delivery details
Send your artwork and order reference to 082 856 6616 on WhatsApp. One initial design and two revision rounds are included; arrange approval before your items arrive. Finished items return via PUDO lockers. Orders of 20 or more items, or parcels exceeding a large locker, need a separate delivery quote. Embroidery can be paid first, but delivery is extra and must be agreed separately.
